Fishy pottery

It’s all inspired by a fishing trip, or a really great novel about fishing that gets Barb marveling about the diversity of the fish world.  Barb starts with a slab of clay and hand cuts the shape of the fish.  She then carves, sculpts, imprints and doodles to allow the fish to take on its final form.  Some are very realistic (people have asked if she pressed the fish into the clay - hmmm, no).  Others are far more whimsical.

Each fish is hand painted using underglazes and glazes to create a completely unique piece.  Each piece is one of a kind as it is in nature.

Barb's species of choice is trout however she does make bass, tarpon, triggerfish, redfish and whimsical fish for these completely original sushi pottery dishes. They make great appetizer trays.  Barb's pottery dishes are kitchen friendly and food safe.  They can go in your oven, freezer, microwave and dishwasher.
